Thanks Dan, I’ve commited to being better at keeping it current. The line about porn vs. art (“you know it when you see it”) seemed to fit. Though Mark had a good point, it’s more the “magician” rather than the “skilled.”

Glad to see you’re posting again as well. Interesting topic and a valid points. Clint’s skill is his ability to be creative – he just needs to make sure he does it more often and at the appropriate times/place on the field.

I would never have thought to compare a skilled player to pornography, but I chuckled when I read that.

In hindsight – I agree. Skill is probably too limiting a descriptor overall, as all those players mentioned are “skilled” beyond a doubt.

Good post and breakdown of Dempsey being different than most other USMNT players.

While it may just be semantics, I don’t think right work would be “skill”. Rather, I’d suggest Clint has a certain creativity, flair and comfort with possession that others on the USMNT don’t.
